THE PRIDE OF AMERICA
A unifying identity for the Body of Christ
When the Lion of Judah joins the Lion of America, the darkness trembles.
A pride is a family of lions. That makes The Pride of America more than a name. It is a picture of what the Body of Christ can become in American civic life: many worship centers, many doctrines, many ministries, many callings — but one Body standing together for Morality, Integrity, Liberty, and Religious Liberty.
The Pride of America is not another denomination, political organization, voter bloc, or program owned by Godly CivicsTM. It is an identity the Body of Christ can own. Godly CivicsTM can help awaken and equip it. WePEG1787TM can give it a Citizen’s Measure. Liberty Civics can help it speak to the wider public square. But the Pride itself belongs to the Body of Christ.
The Lion of Judah
The Lion of Judah is the biblical image at the center of the theme. Revelation 5:5 identifies Jesus as “the Lion of the tribe of Judah.” He is the conquering Lion — yet Revelation immediately presents the Lamb who was slain. Strength and sacrifice are therefore not competing Christian virtues. The Lion gives courage; the Lamb governs how that courage is used.
That is why Lawrence Paul Hebron’s The Lion and the Lamb Initiative fits this moment so naturally. Its Lion of Judah theme supplies the spiritual image: courageous enough to stand, disciplined enough to serve, and sacrificial enough to seek the good of others rather than power for ourselves.
The Lion of America
The Lion of America is different. It is not Jesus, nor is it a second religious symbol. It is the civic lion — the courage, stewardship, and peaceful governing authority that already reside in WTP.
For generations, Americans have been trained to look upward to presidents, parties, political leaders, media voices, and institutions for the power to change government. But in our Representative Constitutional Republic, the governing authority ultimately returns to WTP. We choose the representatives. We grant the consent. We mark the ballots. We can measure those entrusted with governing power.
For the Body of Christ, the Lion of America is therefore already in our hearts whenever believers recognize that citizenship is a stewardship rather than a spectator sport. The Lion does not ask the pulpit to become political. It asks believers to leave the worship center prepared to act as principled citizens.
The Lion of Judah gives us our courage and character. The Lion of America gives that courage a peaceful civic instrument.
Why a Pride?
A single lion is powerful. A pride is powerful in another way: lions act together while remaining lions. That is the image the Body of Christ needs.
Our worship centers do not have to merge. Pastors do not have to surrender doctrine, governance, ministry calling, or DNA. Believers do not need one national Christian political organization telling everyone what to think. The Pride of America requires something much simpler: recognize one another, stand for the same Social and Religious Liberty, use common Governing Principles, and act where our Abba Father has already placed us.
That allows a Baptist, Pentecostal, Catholic, non-denominational believer, a home Bible study, a mega-worship center, a small congregation, and an independent ministry to remain completely themselves while standing in the same Pride for Liberty. Unity is not doctrinal conformity. The unity is shared stewardship.
Independent of Godly CivicsTM
This distinction matters. The Pride of America should be larger than Godly CivicsTM. Godly CivicsTM is a framework and an implementation strategy. The Pride of America is the Body of Christ recognizing itself as a civic family. No one has to “join Godly CivicsTM” to belong to the Pride. There are no dues, membership rolls, headquarters, denominational tests, or political-faction tests.
A believer belongs by doing the work: learn the Principles, protect Social and Religious Liberty, love neighbors who disagree, examine candidates, vote, hold representatives accountable, and help another believer do the same.
That independence also lets existing Liberty ministries remain intact. Real Impact*, The Salt and Light Council*, Liberty Pastors*, TPUSA*, local civic ministries, home groups, and individual believers can retain their own names and methods. The Pride of America becomes the larger identity under which their independent efforts can recognize one another.
From Awakening to a Pride
An Awakening begins in our hearts. A Pride becomes visible when awakened believers recognize one another and move.
The earlier Godly CivicsTM material correctly aimed at uniting the Body around Morality, Integrity, and Liberty, while insisting that the Body itself must engage and mark the ballots. The Pride of America gives that idea a memorable identity: the Body is not waiting for a single national preacher, a single political hero, or a single organization to rescue the country. The Body becomes the movement.
This is where the image comes alive. The Lion of Judah is not being drafted into an American political faction. Instead, believers who follow the Lion of Judah awaken the civic courage already entrusted to them as WTP. The two images meet in the believer — faith directing citizenship, and citizenship becoming stewardship.
The Pride Has Character
A Christian civic movement should be recognizable by more than what it opposes. The Pride of America should be known by its character:
Morality — we seek what is right, not merely what wins.
Integrity — we measure our own candidates by the same Principles we use to measure everyone else.
Liberty — we defend Social Liberty for all WTP because Religious Liberty lives inside it.
Courage — we refuse silence when stewardship requires action.
Love — we do not make neighbors our enemies because they vote differently.
Truth — we test claims, Principles, and outcomes rather than surrendering judgment to political factions.
Stewardship — we vote, measure representatives, and accept responsibility for the government WTP choose.
Not Red Christians. Not Blue Christians. The Pride of America.
The Pride Needs a Measure
Unity without a governing measure can quickly become another political movement. That is where WePEG1787TM becomes important. The Pride of America does not unite around a candidate or political faction. It can unite around Governing Principles. Each believer can score the Principles personally. Candidates can score the same Principles from 0 to 10 in agreement. WTP can then compare the candidate’s stated governing position with the candidate’s record.
Godly CivicsTM explains the believer-facing mission. Liberty CivicsTM carries the Social Liberty case to everyone. WePEG1787TM supplies the Citizen’s Measure. The Pride of America supplies something different: the identity and unity of the people doing the work.
Now the Body of Christ Gets Its Marching Orders
The Pastor Portal has one assignment: equip the saints and release the Body. The Pride of America begins where that portal ends. The next question is no longer, “What should pastors do?” It is:
What does a lion in the Pride actually do?
That is where the Body of Christ portal should become intensely practical — personal scoring, candidate scoring, local engagement, person-to-person sharing, voting, accountability, and building critical mass from worship center to worship center without creating another centralized political machine.
The pulpit equips. The Pride moves. WTP measure. The ballot decides.
