Why WePEG1787^TM Exists

Our Founders built the new government around governing Principles, but they had only the beginning of the American experience with Liberty. They could warn about faction, divide power, protect rights, and establish representative government. They could not yet enumerate the governing Laws of Nature that 250 years of experience would reveal.

Today, WTP have something they did not have then: centuries of evidence from fifty states, thousands of counties and cities, families, businesses, schools, economic systems, wars, social programs, court decisions, federal programs, and repeated political experiments. That history gives us a vast laboratory of outcomes.

WePEG1787^TM is the attempt to convert that experience into a practical Citizen’s Measure: governing Principles stated clearly enough that every voter and every candidate can say how strongly they agree or disagree.

From Political Labels to Governing Principles

Political-faction labels tell WTP very little about how a particular candidate will govern. Campaign speeches tell us what candidates want us to hear. Platforms belong to organizations, not necessarily to the individual candidate. WePEG1787^TM asks a different question: “What do you actually believe about governing?”

Each Principle is scored from 0 to 10 on a level of agreement. A 10 means full agreement. A 0 means no agreement. The candidate’s own score becomes the statement. WTP do not have to interpret a slogan or guess what a party label means.

The Score Forces the Debate

The power of the score is not that everyone will agree. The power is that everyone must reveal where they stand. A candidate can disagree with a Principle, but then the disagreement is visible. A candidate can explain the score, challenge the Principle, or present better research. That is exactly the debate WTP should want.

Refusing to score is also information. If a candidate asks WTP for governing power but will not reveal how they intend to govern, WTP can treat the absence of a score as zero agreement with the requested measure. The debate has still been forced.

Three Things Change Immediately

1. Personal attacks lose power. A smear does not change a candidate’s written Principle score.
2. Unlimited campaign money loses power. Money can amplify a message, but it cannot change the candidate’s own published measure.
3. The next election becomes measurable. WTP can compare the representative’s governing record with the scores published before election day.

A Few Examples

The purpose of examples is not to ask readers to accept every statement automatically. It shows how WePEG1787^TM changes the form of the discussion from slogans to Principles, evidence, and outcomes.

Example 1 — ‘Local Problem Solving.’ The level closest to an issue is usually best positioned to understand it, solve it, fund it responsibly, and know whether the solution worked. Family comes before city, city before county, county before state, and state before federal intervention unless the problem truly requires a higher level.

Example 2 — “Subsidy Produces More”: When the government subsidizes a condition without removing the cause, it often produces more of the subsidized condition. The Principle requires the candidate to discuss incentives, outcomes, and evidence rather than simply proposing another spending increase.

Example 3 — Truth and Measurement: Government programs should be based on repeatable research, transparent data, defined outcomes, and continuing evaluation. If the program does not work, WTP should correct it, return it to a lower level, or end it.

Why This Helps First-Time Candidates

Political campaigns reward name recognition, fundraising, consultants, advertising, and the politics of personal destruction. A Principle-centered election gives a competent first-time candidate another way to become visible. Strong published scores allow voters to identify the candidate by how they intend to govern, not because they bought more advertising.

The Body of Christ and other Social Liberty-loving citizens can then share the scores themselves. That is how WePEG1787^TM can reduce the importance of “big money” without creating another political faction.

The Citizen Scores First

WePEG1787^TM is not merely a candidate test. WTP should score the Principles first. That is what makes it a Citizen’s Measure. Before listening to campaigns, voters decide what they believe about governing. Then candidates are compared with the voter’s measure rather than the voter being reshaped by the campaign.

This also reveals where the Principles themselves need work. WePEG1787^TM is not a frozen doctrine. Governing Principles must be improved through repeatable research, experience, and stronger evidence as WTP continue to discover the Laws of Nature.

No Christian Test

The governing Principles are for everyone because the Laws of Nature work for everyone. A Christian candidate may choose to reveal a Christian identity through the separate voluntary Christian Candidate Statement, but no religious test is required to use the Citizen’s Measure. Godly Civics^TM explains the believer’s reason for using it; Liberty Civics explains the same civic benefit without requiring the faith premise.

How to Use WePEG1787^TM

1. Read and score the Principles yourself before choosing candidates.
2. Ask every candidate seeking your vote to score the same Principles 0 to 10.
3. Read the candidate’s explanations where scores differ from yours.
4. Share the scores, not political-faction talking points.
5. Vote for the candidate whose governing measure best matches the Principles you believe produce the best outcomes.
6. After the election, compare the representative’s governing record with the published scores.
